Bob & Michael’s Place is an innovative social housing project in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, developed to uplift the community through infrastructure built around the needs of those who live and work in the neighbourhood.
The first of its kind in Canada, the 10-storey development offers 231 independent living homes, with a mix of micro, studio, 1- and 2-bedroom suites, alongside a new 50,000 sq. ft. integrated health centre, the Lily Lee Community Health Centre, operated by Vancouver Coastal Health.

Completed 2024Of the 231 suites, every home is adaptable, and 20% are accessible, with 111 available at affordable housing rates and 120 as subsidized units. All outfitted with the same amenities and finishes, each unit is equipped with durability in mind, featuring 5/8” plywood cabinetry with a P-lam finish, laminate countertops, and institutional vinyl sheet flooring.
Residents have access to a balcony attached to their unit and shared amenities throughout the building, including laundry on every floor, an indoor amenity lounge, and a landscaped outdoor terrace with urban garden plots and a children’s play area.
