Menno Hall is a landmark mass timber development in the heart of the University Endowment Lands, adjacent to UBC’s Vancouver campus.

Designed to foster connection, learning, and livability, the project will provide 86 below-market rental units and 101 student housing units alongside a variety of institutional and academic spaces. Residents and visitors will benefit from multi-functional meeting facilities, a dedicated concert hall, a chapel, common areas, and beautifully landscaped courtyards that weave together opportunities for study and community engagement.

Structurally, Menno Hall exemplifies innovation with its unique mass timber and wood-frame hybrid construction, supported by three levels of cast-in-place concrete, including two underground parking levels and a transfer slab. A total of 318 cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels were installed in carefully sequenced stages, with framing following closely behind for a seamless and efficient build. Menno Hall serves as a model for progressive development, uniting affordability, student housing, and community in a single, thoughtfully designed community.
